Islamic Center of Vallejo Temporarily Closing Due to Shelter At Home Order
This is an update about the ongoing coronavirus situation. For the latest information, please check our coronavirus page and subscribe to our email newsletter. Please share this widely so that everyone in our community is informed.
At about 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18th, Solano County issued a “countywide Shelter at Home Health Order and Directive” in relation to the ongoing coronavirus situation, which went into immediate effect. As a result, effective immediately, the Islamic Center of Vallejo will be temporarily closed until further notice.
In addition to the previously announced suspension of all activities and events, and of Jummah, this means that there will be no congregational prayers at the masjid until further notice. This includes all five daily prayers: Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha. The gates will be closed at the masjid at all times.
The county order specifies that it will be in effect until 11:59 p.m. on April 7th, 2020; however, given this ever-changing situation, we’re not sure at this time exactly when we will be re-opening our doors. Please continue to check the website for updates, and subscribe to our email newsletter to have major updates delivered to you as they are published.
We will continue to monitor the situation closely and respond as best we can in the interest of our community.
